About this trip
Two weeks with the Tsaatan — Mongolia's last reindeer herders — in the Khövsgöl taiga.
This 13-day northern Mongolia expedition takes you deep into the remote Taiga to meet the Tsaatan (reindeer herders), one of the world’s last nomadic reindeer-herding communities. After exploring Ulaanbaatar and flying north, the journey continues through the Darkhad Depression before riding Mongolian horses into the forested mountains to stay with reindeer herders in traditional teepees. The adventure combines wilderness trekking, cultural immersion, shamanic traditions, and time to relax at the crystal-clear waters of Khuvsgul Lake, offering a rare balance of exploration and reflection in Mongolia’s most untouched region.
