Travelers exploring ancient deer-stones on the Mongolian steppe under a moody sky

Our story

A Mongolian travel agency, run by Mongolians

How it started

From simple tours to real expeditions

Back in 2013 we started organising tours ranging from simple ger-camp visits with a few travelers to professional, multi-week expeditions across some of the most remote and beautiful corners of Mongolia.

What hasn't changed in twelve years is the team. Tuul Travel Mongolia is still a small, locally owned agency. We don't sell trips we wouldn't take ourselves — every itinerary is walked, ridden or driven by one of our guides before a traveler ever sees it.

Our founder — Maamkhuu Otgontuul — built this company because she wanted Mongolian travel to be honest, well-paid for the families that host us, and led by people who actually live here. That hasn't changed.

  • Locally owned & operated
  • Small group sizes
  • English-speaking guides
  • Tailored itineraries

Tested routes

Every route has been walked, ridden or driven by our team — never sold on guesswork.

Respectful travel

We work directly with nomad families — fair pay, low impact, deeper experience.

Our team

The people behind every trip

A small core team in Ulaanbaatar, plus a network of regional fixers and guides we have worked with for years.
